This project was an attempt to utilize human centered design for large scale, complex problems. My team, of 3 other Stanford students, and I worked with Mastercard's Public Health Strategy Divison to take on the challenge of improving healthcare access, experience, and tracking in Kenya.
We utilized a Systems Thinking approach to map out the complex healthcare system in Kenya. We talked to stakeholders in various organizations like GAVI, PEPFAR, UNDP, etc. We also talked with people and physicians who work in Kenya. Once we mapped out the system, we aimed to identify change and leverage points that would change the way the system currently works. We ideated around various solutions that would enable these change points while ensuring that the user's pain points are addressed.
We presented our findings and created a vision for how Mastercard could play a significant role in this to change the Kenyan healthcare landscape.
